Title: Since 1833?
Post by: PRRThomas11 on August 29, 2007, 11:00:21 AM
Bachmann says it has been around since 1833. Did they even have model trains in 1833. If not, what did they do until they got in the train buisness.

They made brushes for women's hair.   They switched from tortoiseshell to plastic and from plastic went to model trains.  That's why their early stuff was so recalcitrant and cranky.  ;D

Gene,

Can you imagine a 'hairy' thomas. Streaming gray hair, sideburns on the cab, and the list goes on.....

If you want his hair to be straightened, however, you have to use the BACHMANN brand of tortioseshell comb.

Bachmann's non train related products were pretty good..good enough that the US Army ordered them.

Plasticville since 1947
N since 1968
HO since 1970
G since 1990
On30 since 2001

You can check out the wiki entry that I made..
