Title: Real life 30inch Gauge Climax back in service!
Post by: Hamish K on August 11, 2013, 07:58:35 AM
The Climax at the 30 inch gauge Puffing Billy railway is to re-enter service, see http://www.puffingbilly.com.au/news-events/climax-locomotive-recommissioning/ (http://www.puffingbilly.com.au/news-events/climax-locomotive-recommissioning/)

This loco is probably the only 30 inch gauge Climax made, It is about the same size as the Bachmann model, but more modern. If Bachmann ever revises the Climax, perhaps.......

Hi All

Some Great news indeed about this Great Loco . It is now indeeed back in service after some amazing rebuilding ( the boiler went back to the US for repair ! Amazing !) I have cab rode this thing back inthe 90,s so its great to see it again , and perhaps ho knows Bachmann may even produce one in O scale like they did in G scale , but heres and up date for you all http://members.ozemail.com.au/~telica/Puffing_Billy_Climax_1694.html

I read about that in Live Steam. Puffing billy is 2 foot 6 inches not 3 foot like the Rio Grande. To see that loco run will be amazing first hand but for me to get there. chances not likely.
