Turn loco over.
Remove 4 very small screws, one dead center in each sideframe.
Pull springblocks straight out the sides of trucks.
Locate screws at TOP (chassis side) of exposed hole from remove springblocks that are parallel to axles.
Remove screws (2 per truck).
Truck lifts out.

There are issues, not necessarily wiring, that can cause problems.
When I do conversions or general repairs, I hard-wire the pivot plate with super-flex, eliminating the PC board, plugngers and such on top.
I also look carefully at the brass parts inside the pivot plate, as often the tab is caught and smashed flat in factory assembly.
I straighten them and kink the tab halfway up to the tip us tight against the plastic, and it "humps out" a bit in the middle.
This prevents catching, and makes a far better electrical connection.
I also 3-point the suspension.
