Title: RS3 no sound mute

Does the HO RS3 have no sound mute function ? When I hit button 8 on my NCE PCab sound does no shut off. Others do.

The manual says F8.

Rich, I just said that. My question is whether or not RS3 HAS 'mute' capability. OR, you mean RS3 manual SAYS button 8 to mute this engine ; that there is something wrong if it doesn't mute ?

The Tsunami diesel manual at the Bachmann DCC page says F8 for mute. If it does not mute, I would do a decoder reset. CV8, enter 8.

 Does you throttle have 28 functions? If so make sure the throttle is set to F0 to F12. Do you have the loco address on your throttle when you hit F8?   Joe

If you are trying to mute the sound when you are idle, try using the "emergency stop" function. I use MRC PA2 and F8 is mute for me.  I would do a reset as mentioned above.
