This should be in the HO forum by the way.

Get the 8 pin to nine pin adapter.
Cut the caps on the PC board.

The below link will tell you how to connect the adapter. Read though all his material if you are new to DCC and sound. He has alink for the SoundTraxx Tsunami.

That link is a thread on how I installed sound in a Berk.  It was my first time and went pretty well.

Hope it helps you.

If you are not into soldering in small places. the link I provided shows you how to remove the 9 pin connector from the decoder and use a 8 pin to 9 pin adapter to connect the decoder to the eight pin socket in the tender.
Some have shorted a couple pins on the eight pin plug.
SoundTraxx allows cutting back the shrink on the decoder enough to remove the connector.
All you have to solder are two wires to the speaker.

If you ever get ambitious, some put a cell phone speaker in the smoke box with the exhaust sound coming out the stack.

Bruce recently made his site more difficult to use for some. Here is the SoundTraxx Tsunami link. Scroll down a little ways.
