Title: Old transformer with EZ track
Post by: j patrick on December 07, 2013, 04:11:15 PM
Can I use an older model transformer  (Ampack model 401, 12 volts output dc) with EZ track. If so, how do I attach wire to track since  transformer has screw type inputs?

If that is all you want to do, plug the flat connector to the terminal track section.  Cut the plug off the other end of the wire pair.

Separate the two wires for a couple inches from the end you cut off.  Strip a half-inch or so of insulation from each wire.  Wrap each wire end around a screw terminal on the power pack (make sure you use the terminals for DC).

That is all there is to it.  If the train does not run in the direction you want, unplug the wire connector from the terminal track, turn the plug over, and plug it back in.
