Post by: RRAddict2 on December 16, 2013, 11:36:09 AM
I just recieved an older model Jupiter as a gift the loco itself is in perfect condition except the headlight is burned out. Does anyone know where instructions are located on how to change these light bulbs?
Thanks

I have never seen any instruction for this. I have the same loco but it came out before it came equipped with a working headlight.
Just a guess but I suspect it uses the same light bulb that other HO locos have. I am guessing yours is the HO version.
Bachmann does sell a light bulb that is used in the HO 2-8-0.
Many years ago before LED's, many users used 1.5 volt light bulbs with a constant voltage. Requires four diodes. The headlight would come on with only a little increasing of the power pack control.
Not sure you know how to install a LED that can operated of a DC power pack.
I just looked at the loco diagram and you have to remove the boiler as the leads to the pickups are right under the smoke box.
