Title: caboose for k27
Post by: bobgrosh on September 22, 2007, 10:10:41 PM
Now that I have 2 Shays, some 1:20.3 rolling stock and 2 porters and a K27 on order, It suddenly dawned on me.

I need some cabooses.

What is available in 1:20.3?

I probably need a 2 axle bobber (or two) for logging and something really big for the K27.

Lighted with nice interiors, please.

What is available in 1:20.3? Anything that won't break the bank?

Dear Bob,
Accucraft has a very nice Rio Grande short caboose in plastic. I have one, and I like it.
Have fun!

I have a DRGW short caboose in brass from Accucraft. They also make a long version.

With all these new freight cars, can a Bachmann 1:20.3 caboose be far behind?

Actually, it shouldn't be too far behind at all -- just right at the end!

Actually, it might be closer (http://120pointme.blogspot.com/2007/09/yeah-but-whats-at-other-end.html) to the K than you think!! Best, Zubi

I'll second the Bach-man's comments about the Accucraft plastic shorty caboose. 8)  It's very nicely detailed,  & has working marker lights :)  (although the lights are comparatively fragile, I've already had to re-glue one of mine, came loose just from normal handling).  :o  They do look very nice running after dark, though! ;D  You can see mine in operation here:
