Title: Bachmann Old Timer Cars
Post by: Old John on January 07, 2014, 06:03:05 PM
Has anyone replaced the Rapido couplers with the Bachmann E-Z Mate knuckle couplers? If so did you use the 502 or 503 versions?

I have not replaced with the B-mann knuckle couplers, but I have replaced with Micro-Trains.  You use 1133 which, at one time, was almost universal for B-mann products.  It still goes on many of the B-mann items.  The MTs are compatible with the various B-mann knuckle couplers.

Brokemoto,

Thank you for your reply, my problem is that I have a pot full of Bachmann 502 & 503 couplers, I was hoping to use those, and was looking to see what problems I would run into with them.

Chuck,

I just bought these couplers recently at a hobby shop.  They are serial numbers 78503 for the short shank, and 78502 for the medium shank.  They are E-Z Mate Mark II magnetically operated knuckle couplers.  John
