I live in Germany and bought a Porter 0-4-0 DCC with Sound via Internet in USA. After receiving the loco, i test the Sound, light and running. All was OK. The loco runs on short test track very smooth.
Now five weeks later i want to show the loco to a friend. I put it on test track again and nothing happends. No running, no Sound, no light. I just hear a "sssssshhh" from the Speaker. >:(
What can bee the problem? What shall i do now?

Try resetting CV8 to 8.

Is there a failure with the Decoder, but why can it be? The loco is new !!

If you have not already done so I would return it as unsuitable for use to the supplier, was it an eBay purchase? if so you should be covered by the eBay buyer guarantee, If it was purchased by a credit card then the credit card provider should be also be able to intervene on your behalf if nescessary.
When you tested the loco 5 weeks later, did you also try another loco also to check if your system was not faulty?
