Title: DCC question
Post by: yukon on March 31, 2014, 04:43:45 PM
Again, I'm new to the forum.

I'm planning on a Bachmann Echo Valley train set, DCC.

I saw a brief video saying you can run another DCC locomotive, made by a different manufacturer, on the Echo Valley setup.

Just how difficult is it?  I know I have to remove the Echo Valley train set and only have the DCC loco, by another manufacturer, on the track.  Is it as simple as transferring to another # other than #3?.  Other steps necessary?

Thanks.

Do yourself a big favour. Do some reading. Maybe, lots of reading. The EZ Command manual is on the Parts age. Download it to your PC.
Don't think DC powered layout.
With DCC, you can run more than one DCC loco at a time.
You can also run ONE, DC only loco at the same time but not highly recommended.
Google, operating DCC trains for many links you can store in Favourites.
Try not to make assumptions when it comes to DCC. The digital world is quite different in many respects.
You can find many videos about Bachmann trains on You Tube also. Some are not the best but can be helpful at times.

Your assumption about removing train is incorrect.

Viewing the following Bachmann videos will answer your question.
