Will there ever be a GP-7, Rock Island body shell available for purchase?

I checked the parts area on this website and I don't see a RI body shell (I only need the body shell not the whole locomotive) listed for the n scale GP-7. Where do suggest I buy one?

There are other shells available, from Bachmann, but not Rock Island.

You would have to strip and re-paint.
But you could do that with the one you already have.
Or eBay.
I didn't look, but an online shop might have one.

I figured that was the situation but was also hoping the Bach Man would comment on whether or not a separate RI shell would be released in the future.

Huh?? You most certainly do..Almost every shell you make is available at one time or another..Of course,not the one he's looking for,only the ones you make..

Ahh... but they do make the Rock Island and offer the shell to almost all the other GP-7's except for the RI? Why is this Bachmann?

I talked with a very nice lady in the parts dept. today and she said they may have RI body shells available around Sept.

When a new loco comes in, we get a certain number of spare parts, including shells. However, we don't order shells alone to restock. Therefore, order while you can.
