Title: Amtrak Surfliner problems

My son just got an O gauge Amtrak Surfliner for Xmas. We can't seem to run it around any curves without the coach cars decoupling or derailing. Is the radius on Lionel tracks not compatible with this set?

What radius lionel track are you using should be 031 or bigger like 036 or 042 and if they are scale cars they will have to run on 042 054 060 etc.

Ok, just did my homework on track radii!  These antique track curves are O-27...looks like some new tracks are in my future!  Thanks for your help.

I believe your Surfliner is an MTH set.You'll have to direct your question to them.
