Title: whitcomb sound
Post by: charon on February 17, 2015, 09:02:04 AM
Mr. Bach-man,
Just received my Whitcomb 50 ton diesel with the Tsunami sound module. Sound module, bell and horn installed in about ten minutes. Looks and runs great.
However, is there anyway to increase the volume? I would like it a bit louder.
Thanks,
Chuck

Chuck I'm not the Bach-man, however - -
I just checked and the Configuration Variable Defaults list of supported CVs is not yet available online for the 50-Ton Center-Cab Whitcomb On30 diesel locomotive with add-on sound module.

Since the decoder and sound module are made by SoundTraxx for Bachmann
CV 128 is the Master Volume Control and 255 is maximum value for the CV.

Example: a value in CV 128 of 192 is (192/255) 75% of maximum volume.

There are other CVs that control the volume of individual sounds

Hunt,
Forgive my lapse. I forgot to mention I am running on a DC layout, not DCC.
Thanks,
Chuck

A DCC control system is needed to change the configuration variable that controls the volume.

Thanks Yardmaster and Hunt.
I will see about finding a local DCC layout and ask if they can reset it for me.
