Title: Bachmann DCC SoundTraxx CV Min/Max Values
Post by: Grizzly9 on February 18, 2015, 07:35:47 PM
I have been unable to find anything on line regarding the minimum/maximum CV value parameters. Is there a place to find this? - The only thing I've been able to find so far is CV default values which does me no good unless I know what the minimum maximum values are. In other words, I want to know how low and high the diesel exhaust volume can going

The low value is always 0 or 1 for volume.

Thanks. - I just figured out on my own that the Max value for Master Volume and Diesel Exhaust Volume is 255. I just don't get why they keep the Min/Max values so secret. - You would think a chart would at least be on the website.

Yep 255 sounds familiar.

The CV min/max information for diesel locomotives is found in the Diesel Technical Reference
Click Here  (http://www.soundtraxx.com/manuals/tsunami_diesel_technical_reference_0213.pdf)

CV 131: Diesel Engine Exhaust Volume
    0 = Minimum Sound Level (0%) i.e. no sound
255 = Maximum Sound Level (100%)

The Sound Value decoders are made by SoundTraxx to Bachmann specifications but they are not SoundTraxx Tsunami decoders however in some areas similar. There is little specific documentation for the Sound Value, use the Diesel Technical Reference (with some drawbacks) as it is what is currently available.
