Title: track to wall clearance
Post by: loi weglarz on October 31, 2007, 12:28:12 PM
I am helping a frend design a suspended railroad in F scale in a 9 x 12 cove.
We plan on using LGB 46 in rad curves and run a new Bachmann K27.
What is the required wall to center line of track dimension so the front overhang of the engine does not hit the wall as it turnes a 90 degree corner?

Thank You.

Thank You.

Let me see if I have this right. Basically, you want to put a 8 foot diameter circle (with maybe a couple of straights on two sides) in a 9 x 12 room. If you put it dead center in the room (6 inches on each side), it might fit but will look ridiculous. Its like landing an airbus at the local commuter air park.
