Title: DCC OR SOUND AND DCC?
Post by: sonnyw on May 22, 2015, 06:49:53 PM
Is it better to get Bachmann steam engines with sound now or go ahead and buy the dcc steam engines now and later add sound when the sound is available for those engines. I have the bachmann berkshire with sound in n scale and a proto steam with sound but I also have other engines without sound and if you run the 2 engines, one without sound and one with sound together, the engine without really stands out as not being very impressive. I am limited to what I can do regarding installation of sound, I can do drop in decoders but when you talk about grinding frames down and things like that Im inept to say the least. Since im on a fixed income,I cant just send them off and say install sound in these engines. I love engines without sound but ??? I love engines with sound even more. Back in 1968 I was just happy to have n scale period. Now with dcc and sound Ive gotten spoiled.     :-\

If I wanted sound, I would buy an engine with DCC and sound installed.
Cost less and saves installation frustration.

Unless you want a full Tsunami decoder in the case of Bachmann locomotives, you are better off just buying locomotives that come with it already installed.
