Title: K-27 arrival
Post by: rslater on November 08, 2007, 11:27:30 AM
Any chance the K-27 will be "in home" before Christmas?

Dear Rslater,
The first ones are on the water, and all should be here in time for Christmas delivery.
Have fun!

Will the engine be able to handle R1 curves?

The straight parts of the track, yes.
Two Bridgeworks in series, wide open, and it will handle it.
The curve won't be R-1 anymore, and not all the wheels will be on the track, but hey, we ain't picky.
The freight cars require an 8 foot diameter, that's 4 foot radius, and they are MUCH shorter.
My guess is 4 foot minumum radius, which is bigger than LGB 1600 curves, or R-3.
I have a K-27, it's 1:22.5, the pivot points of the drawbar are about 8" apart, and it does NOT like less than R-3.
