Title: Traction tires
Post by: yardmaster54 on August 09, 2015, 11:38:01 PM
On a Bachmann dc F9 locomotive do you put the traction tires on the same side of the trucks or across from each other. A photo would be helpful.

The old F9 picked up power from the front truck and the pancake motor/drive was the rear truck. There should be grooves in the rear truck wheels that get the traction tires. Feel for a lip on the outside edge of the tread if you have trouble seeing the groove.

The axles on the later can motor version should only go in the truck one way and still work. Again, feel for lips on the tread of the wheels to tell where traction tires, if any, should go.
