Interesting, but not quite the same as the Ramsey Car Truck Shifting Apparatus that actually swapped cars between standard gauge and narrow gauge trucks on several railroads in the U.S.

One of these days I need to add a Ramsey ditch to the KL&B Eastern Lines RR Museum.

Or the example of the East Broad Top, which used an overhead crane to lift the cars off their S.G. trucks and have them replaced with N.G. trucks with special wide bolster inserts.

If the ET&WNC hadn't had such good third rail for so long and if they'd had a good crane for it, I could imagine them doing the same thing, just the EBT had...
