You will need to use a DC power source, as the turntable drive uses a DC motor.

Isn't the lionel cw80 a DC power supply?

No. It is an "AC transformer," NOT a "DC power supply."

The Lionel CW80 Transformer definitely puts out only AC. See http://www.lionel.com/products/cw-80-80-watt-transformer-6-14198/ (http://www.lionel.com/products/cw-80-80-watt-transformer-6-14198/)

You will damage the TT if you try to power it with that unit.

So that means I'll need to buy another bachmann power pack?
Cause I don't plan to convert it to DCC since I'm already using the EZ command to power my engines
at lest until I get the Dynamis.
