Title: Anniversary Edition 4-6-0 D&RGW "Bumble Bee"
Post by: sageskipper on September 12, 2016, 05:10:58 PM
This is probably a FAQ but I'm new here and will ask anyway.  I have an old D&RGW Bumble Bee loco from a boxed set I purchased years ago from COSTCO.  I never ran it much but recently put in a fairly large oval outside and also purchased a new USA transformer/controller.  At first the loco operated well but after a few outings quit working.  I foolishly took the unit apart and found the drive/worm gear which is nylon (?) was stripped.

I am doubtful if I could get this engine put together to send for repair and would also be somewhat embarrassed to do so.  On the other hand, new "Annies" don't appear to be available.

So here's my question:  Is it possible to send a unit in for repair in pieces?  Are new "Annies" going to be available anytime soon?  Would welcome suggestions.  Thanks!

sageskipper,
Try large on-line hobby shops/stores as they may have the newest D&RGW 'Bumblebee'  'Annie' with all metal gears in stock.
Happy Rails To You,
Ted
