Title: Bachmann HO 2 truck Climax: Is there an oil bunker available?
Post by: NevinW on October 09, 2016, 06:07:51 PM
I have a Bachmann 2 truck Climax and it runs great and the sound is excellent.  The only issue is that it has a coal bunker covering the decoder rather than the oil bunker that a any locomotive running in the Nevada desert would require.  Does Bachmann or anyone else make an oil bunker that would replace the coal bunker?  Thanks.

Depends on what part of the Nevada desert...there were if anything more coal burners operating out here than oil or especially wood, especially given the close proximity to the Utah mines.  That being said, I'm not aware of any drop in oil bunkers, I made on out of sheet styrene and an oil bunker I'm pretty sure came off of a Rivarossi Heisler.  Plus the water spout from the Climax.
