Title: On30 2-6-6-2 boiler removal
Post by: rrbob on November 24, 2016, 11:17:59 PM
Has anyone removed the boiler from the On30 2-6-6-2? I would live to try making a larger boiler. Either replacing it or just removing all the detail and add a wrapper to the boiler.

Yes i did several times only it's been a while.
I had to replace the motor and make a T version.
I can remember that is wasn't difficult.
Just removing a bunch of screws.
I beefed up the boiler by adding in on case a split saddle tank and in the other two side tanks.

btw , if you are not sure which screws to remove just loosen them and feel what part comes free.
