Title: Alco S4 shell
Post by: quark51 on December 08, 2016, 09:31:49 PM
Will the shell from Bachmanns HO scale Alco S4 fit on the frame of the Alco S2?

Do a search I believe this was done a while back if memory serves me right. I'll add to my memory that the only part that had to be swapped are the side frames.
Looking at the exploded views of each they appear to have the same internals.

No. I have an older Atlas S4. The shell on the Atlas does not have the walkway attached. It's part of teh frame.  Joe

That's cool to know Joe but the question was about Bachmann's S4 and S2 models...

They will swap but it is a really tight squeeze if the engine has sound, I would only advise on doing it if you are swapping with non-sound engines.
