Title: Bachmann4-6-0 Builder Plate Number Origin
Post by: RkyGriz on February 16, 2017, 05:41:12 PM
Hi everybody. Some interesting information has landed on my computer. I follow the Facebook page for the Nevada Northern Railroad out of Ely, Nevada. They have 2 operating steam locomotives (a 4-6-0 #40 built by Baldwin in 1910, and a 2-8-0 No. 93 which was built by Alco Pittsburgh works in 1909). Interestingly, the while Bachmann does not make a model replica of the #40, all of their 4-6-0 G Scale locomotives have the #40's builder plate number in them! It's true! All of my 5 Bachmann;s have the number 34942 on them. One of the guys posted a pic of the builder plate in response to my posting a pic of my Virginia & Truckee #25 and her tender. Have a look:

Have fun guys!
