If your sound decoder is by Sountraxx the master volume is CV128.
From 0 to 255,where 0 is silence and 255 if full bore.

plint;Your EZ-command does not allow you to change CV's .  Look for someone who has  a more advanced  DCC system t change  CV's. John2.

It is a Soundtrax but I only have the EZ Command and can't make those adjustments with the EZ Command.

Thanks, John2.  I'll take it to place I bought it from.  He can do that.

I assume by the question your DCC system cannot read CV.

While the locomotive is running on the main track, use its address and Operations Mode to program CV128 Master Volume Control value to 255, which is the maximum (100%) sound volume.  Continue programming and reduce the value in CV 128 to 250, then to 245 and so on by 5 until the sound level is what you want.

Do not program a value higher than 255 to CV128 and suggest not to leave on 255.
