Title: paint for 0-6-0 unlettered switch engine
Post by: magistral on July 14, 2017, 07:41:43 PM
I recently bought a Bachmann 0-6-0 undecorated settle tank switch engine.  The paint color is exactly the one I am trying to duplicate (so far without much luck).  In comparing it to real live full scale locomotives, it is ideal for a well cared for steam locomotive.  I hope somebody can tell me what this paint color is, how to mix it, where I can get my hands on some of it, etc., etc.

Thanks very much for your help.
:)

Dear Magistral,
It's semi-flat black.
Try Krylon...
Have fun,

Thanks Bach Man.  Well then, I guess I am looking for semi-flat black in acrylic and in a bottle for small projects.  Is this the Krylon of which you speak?  If not can I make or mix a suitable semiflat black? :)

Dear Magistral,
No, Krylon is a common line of spray paint.
If I need a little for touch-up I spray it into the lid.
Have fun!
