Has anyone tried to put a Soundtraxx ECO-100 in the smoke box of the analog 2-6-0? I am not sure it will fit.

If you don't have the actual decoder try to fit a dummy decoder.
Look up the dimensions and make a dummy shape.

There is not enough room in the smokebox but there is at the other end:
There is enough room where the decoder is in the picture, the frame just has to be milled down.
