I just received NS 5555 a GP 38-2.
In looking on railpictures.net I noticed that the Bachmann version does not come close to what the picture looked like. I think this is because the locomotive was rebuilt at some point.
Among other things The horn has been moved back, ditch lights added and something was put over the cab (A/C)? Any ideas as to where I would get parts to modernize the locomotive if I chose to. I am not looking for functionality just appearance.

Rapido Trains, Inc sells a GP detail kit which may have everything you need. Also, Details West sells kits and individual parts.
Finally, Cal Scale sells brass detail parts which one can buy individually.
I notice parts are still available through major MR supply chains. I have also noticed the number of parts suppliers are dwindling. Get the stuff while you can.
