Title: Easiest was to strip small gauge wire
Post by: Alez on August 24, 2017, 09:50:05 AM
Newbie to wiring
Hello
I have to extend the the green wire from my ez track turnout but I am having trouble stripping the small gauge green switch wires.
That is the best way to strip these small gauge wires.
Any thoughts would be helpful.

You should be able to find a wire stripper that goes down to 24 gauge at your local home improvement or hardware store. They're generally under $10.

Hi Alez,

FWIW I have this one from Grainger;

https://www.grainger.com/product/KLEIN-TOOLS-7-1-8-Solid-and-Stranded-Curved-2DGJ8?s_pp=false&picUrl=//static.grainger.com/rp/s/is/image/Grainger/2DGJ8_AS01?

I have not found one of better quality.
You get what you pay for.

Good luck

In the same price range is this Hanlong Tools small gauge wire stripper from Micro-Mark:

It's also available on Amazon for slightly less.
