Title: E-33
Post by: keystonefarm on September 06, 2017, 12:31:06 AM
Any chance of a new run of E-33's or an E-44 with sound ?  Been many years since the last run and the supply has pretty much dried up. Electrics do sell even with no catenary overhead ! We need some freight motors to go along with the GG-1's !! ---   Ken

No plans to rerun the E33 at this time.

That's a shame. Same goes for E-44 I assume?

That is a shame. Please consider the E-44 as it will sell better than the E-33. The PRR is a much bigger market than the Virginian,N&W,NH ,PC and CR. With the E-44 you get PRR,PC and CR. Also Amtrak and the Muskegum Electric operation. The existing E-33 frame ,trucks and mechanism are the same as the E-44 so less upfront development costs. Thanks for your reply. ---   Ken

We will pass the idea along but up to this point it really hasn't been embraced so......

Those electrics are specialty engines of interest in only a small part of the country.  The Russian Decapod or the USRA Mountains and 2-10-2's were much more widely used and in my opinion better reissue candidates.
