Did you install it upside down?

My Heisler's sound module can be installed both ways, but "This Side Up" is printed on the correct side.

Ok. All is well in Heislerville now. Almost. I have sound but I broke one wire for the rear light so now I have to try to resolder that little bitty wire without screwing something else up. If I don't back up, no one will ever know.

Speaking of Heisler backup light, what are the CVs and values to use to have directional lighting?  Mine come on all the time regardless of direction.  Would like directional lighting.

BTW, I have the sound module installed if that makes a difference.

Sorry to go off-topic.  I opened a new thread if you would like to reply in that one... I just saw this thread and you mentioned the lighting so I thought I ask here.

I don't know why they didn't set the back up light to only come on when backing up. If I solder mine to fix it, then I'll have to mess with changing the code. :(

I'm guessing it's because the factory light style looks like a kerosene model, it would be inconvenient for the crew to extinguish one lamp and light the other when changing direction.

I found it.  CV 33 and 34 control the lights.  Set 33 = 1 and 34 = 2 for directional lighting.  The default value for both is 3, meaning they burn in either direction.

Flare - I guess that makes sense but if they are traveling down the road a long distance, they wouldn't want to use up all their kerosene by keeping the back one lit. They could just relight it when they got somewhere they had to back up.

Terry, if you're interested in being accurate to the model I think there are other light fixtures included in the package.

I saw those. I was just being silly.
