Title: Decoder question
Post by: rstroud on December 31, 2017, 02:37:35 AM
I recently purchased an old Atlas HO Southern SD24 DC made in Austria. I converted it to DCC using a Digitrax DH126D decoder and a MRC 16 Bit Diesel sound decoder. The install we pretty well initially, ran and functioned well. After I put on my programming track and used JMRI to test out all the different horn sounds, the DH126D suddenly stopped responding. The sound still works fine, but no power. I did run power to the motor directly to see if motor failed, but it did work. I tried the factory reset on JMRI to reset the DH126D, but still nothing. Any ideas what happened and why?

Looks like the ports to the motor from the programmable chip have blown-up.
And that is terminal. :'(
