How long is the straight portion of #4 turnout. Can it replace a standard 9" section of straight track?

Short answer, no. The straight portion of the #4 is approximately 11.25" long.

The HO E-Z Track Remote Turnout  (Item No. 44561 and 44562 ) straight is 9".

The HO E-Z Track # 4 Turnout (Item No. 44557 and 44558) straight is 10".
