Title: piko LGB

The Piko and the LGB look alike are they the same engine.  Do the Piko have a lot of detail

Neither of these products are Bachmann. However, to answer your questions:
1. They are not the same. They are two different companies.
2. PIKO will generally have less detail than LGB. Both have less detail than Bachmann.

Both of these companies make generally good products.
Bachmann makes good products as well.

Tom, to add to what Ted already wrote, LGB made far far more products to date than PIKO. Also more than Bachmann - at least in terms of model variety and probably also in terms of actual numbers sold (and many of them now available on the second hand market). Best wishes from Tokyo, Zubi

Sorry, I didn't think asking about the different companies.

I have a bunch of Bachmann Engines that haven't been used.  My G Scale rr has not been used for 6 years, because of age and knees.  I hope to get it going soon.
