Title: LED and resistors
Post by: Dusterdave on April 14, 2018, 10:21:51 AM
Installing Digitraxx Tsunami2 in 3 truck Shay. Soundtraxx calls for 680 ohm resistors on the negative side of all LEDs. Since the Shay already uses LEDs, are they in place on the board or do they, indeed, need to be added?

Install 680 or 1000 Ohm resistor in the negative wire of each LED.

The SoundTraxx TSU-4400 decoder Function Common output  is rated at track voltage minus 1.5V.

Thanks again Hunt.
From what I can see, the only LEDs are the front and rear lights. The cab light, firebox and ash pan are 12v and do not need a resistor?

Verify need for resistors and the specs of all lighting used with Bachmann Service Dept.

regular 12v lamps do not need them.
