Title: Logging cars
Post by: Terry Toenges on June 07, 2018, 04:14:51 PM
I redid my logging cars.
I gathered some branches and cut them in pieces. I sprayed them with matte finish and glued them together.
I had lost the original chains because I had them stored away for years.I went to big lots and bought pair of chains that had lockets. I cut the lockets off and sprayed the chains with flat black and flat brown. Then, I cut them into pieces.
The frames were a lighter brown. I mixed some black acrylic paint with water to thin it down and brushed it over the whole frames. Then, I used a paper towel to dab around on the frames.
The wheels were all silver. I put the rest of the frame mixture in a pill bottle and put all the wheels in there and shook them around to get them all coated. I set them out to dry and then put them back on the cars.

Nice Job Terry only you forgot the trucks and wheels.
A bit of rust paint on the trucks and inside the wheels should do the trick.

I could do that. Even the black on the wheels looked better than silver.
