Title: turnout problem
Post by: hgcHO on June 20, 2018, 08:42:25 PM
I have one that gives a very slight sound when  the program button is pressed. and no response if it's # is pressed. At one time it was programed #8 and worked.

The other now will give only one click when the button is pressed   and  then after  a wait will give the toggle twice to indicate that the programming process has been cancelled.  It also worked.

Is it lest expensive and time to buy a new one then to send in for repair?

Or is there instruction on how to correct problem?

Harry

I'd do the standard Electrician's Basic Repair first.

Shake it and give it a thwack, and see if it works now.  If it does, happy railroading.  If it doesn't... probably best to just get a new one.

Did many similar actions - so now set to buy.

Mr. Bach Man is their any solution to problem turnouts beside buying new ones

I am bumping this to the top as I really don't want to now buy 6 new ones now.

Any Help would be very much appreciated.  Any ideas or help out there.

Dear Harry,
If it moves in one direction, perhaps the interior pin has disengaged from the slot that moves the points.
Remove the cover and check that.
Good luck!
