Sound Value is not a decoder but a family of sound decoders. N scale is first to have Econami Sound Value equipped steam and diesel locomotives
The Econami is very tiny. That is probably why it is used for N scale.
It is so much more, well, "everything " than Sound Value. Too bad we won't see it in HO.
