Title: Problem with DCC Turnout
Post by: DAVISinGP on August 26, 2018, 02:29:11 PM
I finally received my E-Z Command DCC Turnout (44131) that had been on back order. Unfortunately it appears to be defective.

I am able to program it, but when it switches, although I can hear something click under the track, is doesn't switch the rails.

I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to address that issue  - perhaps something got loose during shipping. Or does it need to be returned to Bachmann?

Thanks.

Sometime the "rack and pinion" gears between the solenoids and point throw become disengaged during shipping.

Turn the turnout over and carefully remove the bottom cover. Looking at the picture above, follow the stiff wire from the point throw on the left to the platic arm that should have a gear on the opposite end. The gear should be meshed with the teeth of the rack just below it in the picture. The rack should be connected to the solenoid arm.

If anything is out of place, reconnect it and replace the cover.

Thanks, Len. Much appreciated info.

Everything looked connected properly in there - still not working upon reassembly.
