Title: 1:20.3 couplers
Post by: russ on December 13, 2007, 03:30:23 AM
Any thought to making a new 1:20.3 coupler that is offset in the up position that can be installed in your 1:20.3 locomotives?

It would also work for the Big Haulers and the Porters that have no provisions for connecting to the 1:20.3 cars! It would be a really good idea marketing wise! ;)

I assumed that's why he was asking ... he has a geared loco he wants to keep the truck mounted couplers on, or a porter ... or, I suppose a 4-6-0.

If that isn't the reason, what else did you have in mind?

Dear Russ,
I'll pass the idea along.
Happy holidays!

How about improving the contour of the 1:20.3 knuckle couplers.  I'd like to see one as prototypical as the Accucraft coupler, with the longer shank like the present ones have (Kadee 830 box)

I'm spoiled by the Accucraft couplers---they really do work like the prototypes do.
