Title: Is this train set worth anything
Post by: Deferent on September 19, 2018, 11:43:55 AM
Hi im new to the whole train thing and found a train set in my attic and I believe it was my grandpas. I wanted to find out if it was worth anything and could not find anything online. If any of you know what the name of this train set it or how much it is that would be much appreciated. (Cannot upload the pictures on here so here are the imgur links) http://imgur.com/vPauNdT

Model trains are almost always not worth anything except for very old pre war ones and then only certain  ones.  A common misconception that old trains are of incalculable value.

When I was a kid, my friend had his dad's 1930's American Flyer President's Special, in the original boxes.  That's the kind of thing collectors want.

Why not hang on to it for the memories?  I have several very old pieces of rolling stock going back to 1960s, I ran them when I was a kid and hold on to them remembering the fun they gave me.

Yes that is the best reason.
