So I am looking at buying some locomotives and the production date is around 2003 DCC when they were first released. They are new in box. My question is does it matter when the production was run, say initial 2003, and they rerun for more stock 2007 or something for example. Will the decoder still be the original one? Although it's 2019 is it a problem?
sorry I don't know about decoders but - as far as I recall inside the Bachmann box (on the end tab ?) you will see a number stamped on - say 180514 this is read backwards and is the date of manufacture of loco or passenger/freight cars - it was made 14-05 (May)-2018

The date code format is YYMMDD
180514 is 05/14/18 or May 14, 2018
