Just wondering! On a DCC system is the locomotive drive motor receiving AC or DC current?

Decoder sends Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) DC voltage to motor

Yes, the motor or a multi meter sees it as DC voltage.
I used a Scope and saw PWM. Narrow pulses +12 dcv to 14 dcv for minimum speed and wider pulses for higher speed FWD. No pulses for stop. Minus for reverse.
