I just tested my brand new Southern Pacific SD9 DCC Sound Value equipped SD9 and it worked using my EZ-Command DCC, but when I tried to run it with my MRC Tech 7 in DC it just sits there and makes idling sounds. How can I get it to work using a DC power pack or is this a DCC only locomotive?

not sure on this - but do DC only work with decoder set on DCC No 3 (factory loco No) ?
