I have a large scale Bachmann that needs a black battery cover for the coal tender. The Bachmann store is out of stock and they said they will be out of stock for a while. Does anyone know where I can get one? I am trying to get the train and sound going for my sons birthday. Thank you!

Sorry I am new to this...It is a large scale (G scale?) Bachman...It is the Gold Rush "Denver-Rio Grand" set. It had a number 12 & 14 engine...I have the number 12 engine. The engine is blue...the coal tender has wood not coal and it is black with "Denver-Rio Grande" written on the side... Here is what I found so far...Bachmann Big Haulers Gold Rush G Scale Set 90022. The Bachmann store has the part that I am looking for labeled as Battery Cover Door (Large 4-6-0) $2.20 (black)...but it is out of stock for a while. Please help me find the part if you have any insight. Thank you.
Unfortunately, the first thing broken on the tender, and has been out of stock at Bachmann as long as I remember.

Sorry to see you haven't been able to find one. Your bet bet is Ebay. If you Google "Bachmann G Scale Tender" and scroll down you will find several tenders some bid some buy it now. just be sure to check the pictures and make sure the tender hatch is present. I saw about six possibilities.

You can always paint the hatch if you don't like the color. When removing the hatch be careful not to damage it.

To supplement Loco Bill: it's not just enough to see that the tender has the cover, you need to explicitly ask if the cover is damaged at all and has it's two "hinges" operational.
Don't ask me how I know this is important to ask, other than receiving broken ones and lids glued in place. ::)
