I have a nice little 2-6-0 that I purchased last year. It did sound great but about two months ago the sound totally stopped. The light still works fine and it does run. Just no sound what so ever.
I have tried a reset several times. I have re-assigned the engine number into the address. Same results. It runs, light functions, no sound. I believe my next step is to send it to Bachmann and see if they can make it work.

Any suggestions?

If it was mine, I would open it up. I am betting a speaker wire has broken at a solder joint. Its possible the audio portion of the decoder is blown. But I would do a visual check anyway.

Have you tried F8?
That is the mute function.

Yes. I would suggest opening it up also. Some decoders had plastic tabs to hold the wires in place on the decoders. No soldering.Yes, F8.
Bachmann does have a good return, repair policy.
