Title: My caboose comes lose!
Post by: The Old Man on December 22, 2007, 05:59:29 PM
I just got the Digital Commander set for my 9 year old daughter (and of course me!)  The problem is the caboose keeps unhooking when it runs over the included turnout.  I heard that the Bachman turnouts needs to be filed down--but where?

Is the coupler lower or higher than on the other cars? if there is a slight bump it may uncouple it. Maybe if the car before the caboose has a low coupler.

also the coupler uncoupler pin may be too low and hitting the rail.

I will check the height of the couplers.  Are they adjustable?

If you are using EZ TRack the turnout may have a slight twist in it which raises the frog and aportion of the track. Check it through with a straight edge .The solution is to fasten down the turnout so that is flat to the base.

Unfortunately this is not an option--ours is--at least for now--a temporary layout.
