Title: Decoder manuals please
Post by: robi99 on March 04, 2021, 12:18:41 AM
I have the Bachmann N scale 2-6-0 and 4-6-0 and 2-8-0 steamers.

I am familiar with NCE DCC systems. I want to speed match these locos and with other brands too.

Can you supply decoder manuals which specify all CV values and their options for these 3 steam locos?

I have determined (on the 4-6-0 only) that CV8 = 101 and CV7 = 46 and can see the basic 8 CVs OK. But more is needed.

I tried to change CV29 to include RailCom but the decoder did not accept value 42 (34+8).

JMRI DecoderPro has shown me a couple of other CVs in the 50s range but this is no help unless I (we all) know what the CVs are.

Please help your users downunder.

Many thanks. Robi99

All I can do is point you to this page for Bachmann CV's.

The Sound value 2-8-0 uses a Soundtraxx Economi Steam decoder. You can find the manuals for that decoder here: https://soundtraxx.com/manuals/econami-digital-sound-decoder

Note that, as the 2-8-0 comes from Bachmann, CV211 (low speed compensation) = 25. If you reset the decoder, CV211 will be set to 0, and you will need to reset it to 25.
